Guess where we were going!

We were walking down Dempsey Hill~

And turned left into a small secluded pathway

Surrounded by nature

And then to the entrance!

Which other places serve such mouth-watering desserts?!
It is not other than... Pscafe!
My family, my love, Daniel [sis' boyfriend], celebrated my birthday at this very place. =D

Look at the forest out there! Just simply spectacular.

Love how they provide white and brown sugar cubes in a small cup for our tea/coffee [cubes are only served when tea/coffee is ordered].

Must try Truffle Shoestrings Fries! The portion was extremely huge! When it came, we were all joking that what if, a couple or so, thinking "It's just fries, lets order two; one for each", Ho Ho! They are so going to be shocked till their heads roll off. *Laughs!
I think even if they ordered one plate, in addition with main meals, they still might not be able to finish everything as well. There were six of us and though it was so delicious, we just couldn't finish it.

Dad's Miso Cod Fish
A rather small portion but yet it was one of the most expensive dish [it is cod after all].
Saw quite a number of Caucasians having it as well.

Mom's Chicken Rossa Penne
It was actually not too bad. The pasta sauce doesn't leave a cloying taste.

My love's P.S Burger with chunky fries. The meat was really thick and juicy, and the onions were crisp. The bread was something worth applauding though. Very nice. Great taste and texture.

Mine; Beef Stew with Bacon Ragout [served with mash]. Big serving! I couldn't finish it. I passed my beef to everyone on the table; mostly to my dad. *Laughs!

But the streaky bacon wrapped around the vegetables was yum! I enjoyed crunching on the vegetables before getting to the middle, which is the bacon. So light; compliments the stew.

Sis' chicken breast; I forgot the exact name. One thing about this though, the salad was not to her liking, so it was transferred over to my dad, again. *Laughs

Daniel's P.S Fish and Chips. Another extremely big portion of serving. The skin of the fish was wonderfully thin and light. Not like those heavily breaded,fried skin you get from Fish & Co, Manhattan and etc.
Many customers ordered that. And since it is such a big portion, sharing is a great option.
I'm going to aim for that dish the next time I'm there. Heh heh!
Or I'll just go for Portobello Mushroom soup and Truffle Shoestring Fries, and be done with. Yums!

Lastly! Our anticipated dessert! The one that was published in the newspaper!
Double Chocolate Blackout!
Surprisingly, with all the fudge going on there, it was not overwhelmingly sweet at all!
The fudge coating had a very slight hint of bitterness and the cake itself was not very sweet. The sweetness all came from the ice cream and the liquid fudge on the plate.
A good dessert after a big meal when you want something chocolaty but yet, not cloyingly sweet.

My love and I celebrated my birthday a little earlier this year because 2nd Feb itself was a Tuesday and with all the school things overwhelming me, we thought to celebrate it a little earlier.

We went to Brewerkz for dinner! It was my New Year's resolution to go to this place because it was hell crowded on New Year's Eve [Clarke Quay]. Such a bummer, was really looking forward to it.

So you could have guessed how excited I was when my love [*Hugs!] brought me to this place for dinner. We went to the Bukit Timah branch, which had less crowd and I actually preferred the atmosphere here compared to the one at Clarke Quay. So horribly filled up with endless chatter. SSHH!

Look at the beer chart! Makes deciding of which to order, so much easier. We got the Golden Ale and Fruitbrewz [which had yet to be named].

Sausages and Mash. Love the spicy Italian sausage and the mash. The other sausage was bockwurst, which was pretty normal tasting. There were in total 3 sausages to choose from by the way, but spicy Italian? YUMS! Mash was good too! They mashed it, skin and all. I had two servings of mash [overload!], so I passed one over to my love.

Can't really tell much from here but it is Pork Chops. The meat was tender and not really that dry. But my love said that it was really thick and he was just not used to consuming thick pork chops. So he got a little sick of it [to each of his own I guess]. The salad was bitter and the beans were, well, beans. *Laughs!

Fruitbrewz

My birthday present from my love! I really really love it a lot!

A little story behind it; my mom was supposed to get me a wallet on that day itself and suddenly, she told me she would get me a bag instead. I was a little bummed because I needed a new wallet.

But in reality, my mom was in cahoots with my love! Apparently he called her the previous night and informed her that he had gotten me a wallet, and not to get me one the next day. So brave! Gosh. So sweet too as well. *Laughs

Yes, I am a happy little girl. Fabulous wallet from my boyfriend, new bag from my mom [which was not counted as a birthday present], hard disk from my sis and her boyfriend [Daniel], and a great dinner [a later post] from my dad. Am very satisfied. Had incentives from my parents as well which was a bonus at the end of the day! =D

Daybreakers with my love on Saturday!

A very interesting perspective whereby the majority were the vampires, while the minorities were the humans. It was so fascinating watching vampires going about their daily business [go to work, report news, buying "coffee"..etc].

I shall not go into further details; trust me, there were more to it. Nice~

I spoilt it for my sister already, I told her the whole story. The only reason I did that was because she wouldn't watch this genre of movies. *Laughs!

A pretty good movie to catch I would say. 3.5/5 maybe?
